Description of the company.

Trama TecnoAmbiental (TTA) is an international consulting firm working since 1986 in the field of renewable energies, environmental projects and technology development. TTA is located in Barcelona, Spain, and also offer services from the branch office in Quito, Ecuador. TTA has experience implementing projects in the cultural background of Pacific Island countries, as it is actually coordinating the rural electrification project in Kiribati funded by the European Union, and providing energy service to 1700 households and up to 100 community centres. Mains tasks of the technical assistance are:

started with the design of the electrification programme,
the revision and adoption of the institutional setup,
study and preparation of a battery recycling programme,
assessment of energy demand and willingness to pay,
intensive training programmes on all levels,
design of systems
budget planning and edition of annual work programmes,
procurement of equipment with international tendering according EDF rules,
design and supervision of the system installation process carried out by the Solar Energy Company (SEC)
design and implementation of procedures for the operation, maintenance, and fee collection of the systems by the Solar Energy Company (SEC), design of integral software package for these purposes.

TTA collaborated as an expert in various tasks of the International Energy Agency (IEA), and was awarded with the EUREC Technology Prize 2001, for developing excellent system technology for rural electrification based on renewable energy sources, combined with an innovative, user-oriented approach for its implementation. TTA is the leading company offering integral consulting services for all phases of a rural electrification project, which also include institutional, economic and social aspects:

financial management of large scale programmes
determination of an optimum solution between extension of the existing electricity grid, creation of micro grids, and the installation of stand alone systems,
energy assessment studies for renewable energies
design of rural electrification programmes,
development of financial and business models for sustainable operation of the stand alone systems in the long term, including suitable tariffs,
coordination between the different institutions involved, on local and international level,
user training and sensitisation campaigns for energy issues in stand alone systems for rural electrification,
engineering of stand alone systems based on appropriate mix of renewable and other energies,
capacity building for local staff in management, and technicians,
user training for successful use of the systems,
monitoring and evaluation of rural electrification programs on technical, economical and social level.

TTA has a multi lingual team with world-wide experience on technical and management level.
